At least he leads by example though, always taking a crappy fitted tanked Vulture into fleet fights and warping off alone if things don't look like they are going quite the right way.

You need to learn how to use a max skilled covert ops.
There is a good 10 seconds or so window whenever he moves to the SS or logs out.
It's not really that hard, just takes patience.

You can do it in a lot less than 2 minutes. I'd say 50-60 seconds from scan to landing on result is feasible at 80 AU.
